I changed the title of this old meme because I don't feel like throwing it anymore. Some didn't know what a meme was last year, others mistook it for a chain, which in fact it isn't. Anyone who wants to write a post like this will therefore be free to do it on their own. For me it should be seen as an initiative in favor of reading. Let's get to the questions now. How many books did you read in 2011? In 2011 I broke my record again, reading 36 books. I'm finishing another one and have already started 3 others. One, however, has been abandoned.
How many were fiction and how many were not? I have read 32 books including novels and short story collections and 4 books including essays and document books. How many male and female writers? I have only read 1 book by a writer: Enyd Blyton. Best book read? Difficult to answer this question. I include five: The Betrothed by Alessandro Manzoni, Cuore by Special Data Edmondo De Amicis, Son of God by Cormac McCarthy, Zeferina by Riccardo Coltri and The Girl Next Door by Jack Ketchum. And the ugliest? Impossible Planet – Part 3 by Harry Harrison, the last of a trilogy and, in my opinion, the worst. Oldest book you've read? The Betrothed by Alessandro Manzoni, published in the last edition in 1840.
And the most recent? The Great Nocturne by Ian Delacroix, released November 2, 2011. Which book has the longest title? The Girl Next Door by Jack Ketchum. 30 characters. And the one with the shortest title? Heart by Edmondo De Amicis, only 5 characters. How many books have you reread? I reread A Study in Scarlet and The Sign of the Four by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. And which ones would you like to reread? Son of God by Cormac McCarthy and Zeferina by Riccardo Coltri. The most read books by the same author this year? Cormac McCarthy, four books. How many books written by Italian authors? I have only read 13 books written by Italian authors. And how many of the books read were taken from the library? Nobody, I don't take books from the library.
